Domain Name Transfers

You must go where you or your customer bought the name from and apply for a dns transfer. We have stopped attempting to do domain transfers for the following reasons. Almost every company on the web is now requiring passwords to transfer a name or they require the request to come from the owner of the name.

How to transfer a domain name.

1. Ask the customer where they bought the name. Go to that site and see what is required for a dns name server change. If your customer will not give you the password give them a copy of this help file without our name on it.

2. You can do a Whois search on the domain name and see who owns it and where they bought it. http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois

3. Links to sites that are common and search tools for domain name information.

4. Your must look for a form that changes the primary and secondary name servers the form for Network Solutions is here.
http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/makechanges/domain.mod

5. Here is the information needed for the forms. Some sites do not require the ip numbers, just the name servers.

ns4.dynamicwebspace.com
